Faculty Presidential Award for Excellence

Join us in honoring this year's recipients at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008, in Greyhound Arena.

The Portales President Awards for Excellence are given to ENMU full-time faculty nominated by their students and peers for demonstrating the true spirit of Eastern New Mexico University. (Winners are honored at the spring commencement in May and are presented with a plaque and check for $2,000 for each award.)

Each year, nominations from students, faculty and staff are reviewed by Academic Affairs staff. Finalists are chosen and notified, giving them the opportunity to provide additional supporting information prior to the final selection.

All nominations must be received by March 7.

The four areas in which a faculty member may be nominated:

• Advising
• Research/Scholarly/Creative Activity
• Service
• Teaching

Nomination rules are as follows:

• Faculty many nominate their peers in all areas.
• Students may nominate faculty for advising, service and teaching.
• University employees (professional and support staff) may nominate faculty for advising and service.
