Reserve A Film

Golden Library is offering over 5,600 streamed video documentary films, through Films for Humanities and Sciences, to faculty members for use in distance education and on-campus classes. Film file links must be placed within Blackboard course pages to satisfy copyright requirements for restricted access. All faculty members who wish to make use of streamed films in a class must use a Blackboard account/shell for the course. Films are streamed from the vendor's server, so there are no bandwidth issues!

To reserve a film, please email Michele Wood with the following information:

  • Title of film(s)
  • Course name and number
  • Date you want film(s) available for student viewing (please give us three weeks notice)
DO NOT purchase films through this service! The library will purchase the digital licensing rights.

Subject Areas
To search available films, click on a subject area, below, and then a film title for a summary of the film content. Many titles are parts of series, where indicated; however, single titles within a series, or an entire series can be requested. Click the title link and scroll down to "The Series Includes" to see all titles included in a series. Click the individual titles to view the content of each film in the series. In many cases, a "preview film clip" is available. Titles in Spanish are preceded by an asterisk.* Titles currently available end with a pound sign.#

Streamed films may be viewed using Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, or QuickTime. For questions about reserving a film, please contact Michele Wood by email, or by phone at 575.562.2644.
