Vocal Music

ENMU's vocal music program trains singing performers and prospective vocal and choral educators. Academic experiences range from one-on-one studio lessons with voice faculty for music majors and nonmajors to voice classes where students are taught proper techniques in singing in group class settings. Courses in vocal and choral literature, foreign language diction, choral conducting and methods, and vocal pedagogy round out the vocal curriculum. Scholarships are available to those who quality.

University Choirs

ENMU choral ensembles include University Singers, Chamber Singers and Swanee Singers. Our choirs perform a wide variety of repertoire from the 15th century to the present. ENMU choir members can expect to perform excellent choral repertoire with other highly talented musicians in five to six concerts per year. Other exciting experiences in which ENMU choir members participate include performing major works with state and regional orchestras, including the Santa Fe Symphony, Roswell Symphony and the Amarillo Symphony. The ENMU Choirs also tour yearly, both in-state and abroad. In July, 2007 the choir will perform at the Beijing International Choral Festival in China.

Check out the Fine Arts Calendar for our next performances.
