ENMU's New Hall of Honors for Educators

Nominate an outstanding ENMU education graduate for the new Hall of Honors, established to recognize ENMU alumni for distinguished careers as teachers, administrators or counselors. June 6 is the postmark deadline for nominations. Read the selection criteria and nomination form for details.

Four Alumni Recipients honored at 2007 Homecoming Events

Each year, the Alumni Association of ENMU presents prestigious Alumni Awards to outstanding individuals during the annual Homecoming activities. You are invited to view photos and biographies of the 2007 recipients selected for these awards.

Office of Alumni Affairs

The Office of Alumni Affairs coordinates the Eastern New Mexico University Alumni Association. The association exists to advance the interests of Eastern by providing a medium through which the alumni can contribute to the welfare of the University; to foster a spirit of loyalty; to promote beneficial relations among its members; and to acquaint the alumni with the progress and needs of the University.

The activities of the Association are directed by the association's Board of Directors. There are no dues or fees for membership in the association and membership is open to all graduates and former students. Membership is free.

Homecoming and Receptions

Every fall Eastern invites all alumni and friends back to campus for Homecoming. Alumni are encouraged to participate in social activities, class reunions, athletic events, and many other programs and activities. The association also hosts receptions in various cities in conjunction with special events and athletic contests.

Sharing News

Alumni keep in touch with the University and former classmates by sharing their news with the Alumni office in the Class Notes. Tell us what’s going on in your life. Moving? Marrying? New Baby? Changing Jobs?

Please share your information with us! Send your full name, years attended or year(s) of graduation, the degree(s) you received, and your current address. Include the name of the company or institution you are with and your position, as well as honors or other information you would like to share with former classmates. Baby gifts are mailed to new parents when the Alumni office learns of the new arrival. Don’t forget to include photos!

Alumni Awards

The Alumni Association board of directors selects the recipients of the annual Alumni Awards. Nominations are provided by the membership-at-large and the board presents the awards during the annual homecoming festivities. The awards began in 1966 and the categories are Outstanding Alumni, Distinguished Service, and Honorary Lifetime Alumni Award.

New Graduates

New graduates are honored at commencement receptions sponsored by the Alumni Association. Graduates and their families are invited to visit with alumni and members of the University faculty. Each new graduate will receive mailings about the association, a certificate of membership, and an association decal.

Credit Card Program

The Association contracts with MBNA to provide an Eastern Alumni Association credit card to alumni and friends of the University. MBNA solicits alumni for enrollment in this program and the association receives royalties which are directed to the Alumni Association Scholarship fund.

Student Recruiting

The Office of Enrollment Services relies on alumni throughout the world to help recruit future Eastern students. Alumni are encouraged to provide Enrollment Services the names of high school students who may be interested in attending ENMU. Call 800.FOR.ENMU to visit with an admissions counselor.

Scholarship

The Alumni Association established the Eastern Alumni Association Scholarship created for children and grandchildren of ENMU Alumni. Royalties from merchandising programs, in addition to private and corporate gifts, fund this special award. If you would like to contribute to this special scholarship, please contact the Office of Alumni Affairs.
