The Perkins Loan

Perkins Loan monies are allocated to Eastern by the federal government to award to students. These funds are limited; therefore, loan amounts are packaged by Eastern as part of your award. The interest rate is 5 percent and repayment of loan and accrual of interest begins when you graduate, drop out or drop below half-time status for a nine-month period.

The Stafford Loan

To borrow under the Stafford Loan program, you must complete a loan application online at www.enmu.edu/current-students

• Click on “Check My Financial Aid Status” and log in using your student ID and password.
• Choose “Student and Financial Aid”
• Click on “Financial Aid” and choose “Complete My Stafford Loan Application.”

Eastern will certify your loan and send it to your bank. The amount you are eligible to borrow depends on your grade level and dependency status provided to us via your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Repayment of loan and accrual of interest varies with the type of loan.
