National Student Exchange (NSE)

The National Student Exchange program allows a student to be enrolled at one institution, known as the home institution, while physically attending another institution, the host institution. Students must be at least a sophomore to participate in the NSE program. Students may attend other schools that have agreed to participate in the NSE program. Students may attend for one semester or two semesters but are usually limited to one year. Any student who is interested in this program from Eastern should contact Stephanie McClary at 575.562.2985.

Eastern's Office of Financial Aid will fund our home NSE students according to the same parameters as students who are physically attending Eastern. A budget adjustment will be allowed if the student provides proper documentation of increased cost of attendance.

It is preferable for any Eastern NSE student to contact the Office of Financial Aid prior to leaving for their host school. At that time, we will go over completion of financial aid file.

For NSE students who are coming to Eastern from another institution, we will honor whatever arrangement their home school requests. For example, some home schools will send the check to Eastern for the student's endorsement and request that we send the check back, so the home school can take out the amount of the student's tuition. The home school will then send the balance in a check made payable to the student and Eastern. Some schools may send a check made payable to the student, and we must verify hours before releasing the funds.
